Rachel and Joseph's John's City Diner Engagement Session in Downtown Birmingham

Joseph and Rachel met their freshman year at UAB in the spring of 2014. They both are quite introverted, but as love goes— they clicked. They spent a lot of their beginning at John’s City Diner, where we shot a lot of their engagement photos. Joseph’s mother plays a role in Birmingham’s botanical gardens, so we popped in there too.

They never run out of things to talk about and they laugh at all the same things. Rachel and Joseph started officially dating November of 2015. Then Joseph went to grad school in DC, while Rachel started her career in social work in Birmingham. They slayed long distance. Rachel told me that long distance really strengthened their relationship, and now they’re super intentional with how they use their time together. The distance made their communication better than ever too. They love to spend their time window shopping at malls and going on long walks together. They cherish the fact that they can be 100% themselves in front of each other.

These two cuties get married in January 2020, and I CANNOT WAIT. They make such a cute couple, and I know they’re going to have the most tender day.
